TWO teenagers have been charged after a man was reportedly stabbed inside a student halls.

Rohan Ahluwalia-Pandor, 18, from Hertfordshire and Anam Asaf, 18, from London were charged with a section 18 wounding, police said.

Armed police stormed the halls of residence at the University of Warwick at around 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The victim was reportedly stabbed at a property in Scarman Road, at Warwickshire University, before being rushed to hospital.

His injuries are believed to be serious but not life threatening after being knifed in the bloodbath.

The University of Warwick confirmed an incident had taken place at its Sherbourne accommodation site, with Warwickshire Police saying a 19-year-old man suffered stab wounds.

Ahluwalia-Pandor and Asaf appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court today.

Asaf was remanded in custody while Ahluwalia-Pandor was released on conditional bail.

It is understood terrified students at the 794-room halls were evacuated as the stabbing unfolded

The university confirmed alternative was provided after police swooped on the block.

In a statement, a university spokesperson for the University of Warwick said: ...We want to reassure those concerned by a continued police presence around Sherbourne that there is no danger to students or staff.

...We can confirm an incident has taken place that has since concluded....

Ahluwalia-Pandor, of Barns Lane, Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, and Asaf, of Wilkinson Close, London, will appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Friday....

Both defendants’ cases will be heard at a Crown Court next month.

Warwickshire Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses.

Detective Inspector Cawail Wong from Warwickshire Police CID said: “This was a serious incident in which a young man has suffered stab wounds.

...I would appeal to anyone with information about it to contact police.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed the air ambulance was scrambled as the victim was treated for serious injuries.

Warwickshire University would not confirm whether the suspects or victim were students.
